God's Holy Fire: 'The Fire of God'

Monday, October 5, 2026

From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God.

Key Thought

Glory! If we read all of Revelation 4, we are given a picture of God's glorious presence. The description is awesome and really beyond imagining. The focus, however, is clear: God is holy and worthy to receive honor, power, and praise. He holds the future in his hands. He is ruler over those who reign on earth whether they acknowledge him or not. A vital part of this scene of the throne in heaven is always the presence of God himself, our Father in heaven, our Lord Jesus who reigns, and the perfect Holy Spirit who lights our way through the darkness. Let's give our praise and thanks to our Almighty God who has given up himself for us and reveals himself to us and makes his presence available to us.

Today's Prayer

O God, thank you for your perfection. Please receive my heartfelt words of thanksgiving and praise ... (Include your own thanksgiving and praise.) In Jesus' name and through the Spirit's intercession and to the Father's glory, I offer my thanks and praise. Amen.
