God's Holy Fire: 'Pray in the Spirit'

Sunday, October 11, 2026

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

Key Thought

The Holy Spirit is our constant assurance of our access to the heart of God. The Spirit intercedes for us and communicates our words and our emotions according to the will of God. As in all worship, the Holy Spirit fills us, is among us, and participates with us as we seek God. The Holy Spirit also empowers and enables us as we pray. Prayer is much more than shouting words and feelings at heaven or begging God for help. Prayer happens because of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. God himself, in the Spirit, is praying with us and through us!

Today's Prayer

Father, please hear the prayer I share with you using words. Father, please hear the prayer I offer you that is deeper than words and beyond what my words can convey. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who intercedes, empowers, and makes this prayer possible. In Jesus' name, I thank you. Amen.
