God's Holy Fire: 'The Same Promised Blessing'

Friday, June 26, 2026

Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.

Key Thought

What breaks down the barriers between cultures and nations and races? The presence of God's Holy Spirit within us. We sense a commonality, we feel a shared bond, and we celebrate the unity of the Spirit that exists because each of us has God's presence - the Holy Spirit - within us! There's an old saying, "Blood is thicker than water." It was used to emphasize why families stick together, feel connected, and defend each other. I like to amend it in the following way: Blood may be thicker than water, but the Spirit ties us together by both blood and water!

Today's Prayer

O Father, I pray for the Holy Spirit to move among your people in a mighty way to break down barriers that divide us. Please give us a sense of our common bond through your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
