God's Holy Fire: 'Helping Solve the Puzzle'

Saturday, May 31, 2025

Meanwhile, as Peter was puzzling over the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, "Three men have come looking for you."

Key Thought

Peter wants to know the meaning of his vision - read Acts 10 for the details of that vision. What he learns about the vision is shocking for him. But, the key to unraveling the mystery of the vision is that the Holy Spirit is getting Peter to help reach the ends of the earth with God's good message of grace. Jesus had given this evangelistic commission to his followers (Luke 24:45-47) and promised that his followers would fulfill the commission (Acts 1:8). In Peter's vision, along with the spiritual guidance that follows the vision, the Holy Spirit gives very specific directions to Peter to take the gospel to Gentiles. And if our hearts are sensitive to the Spirit, then we will be drawn to reach out to the nations as well!

Today's Prayer

O Father in heaven, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Convict me, O God, through the Holy Spirit's influence, that the world needs to know Jesus. Propel me by the power of the Holy Spirit to share the message of Jesus. Equip me through the gifts the Holy Spirit gives to be effective in reaching out to others around me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
