What Jesus Did! 'Silence! Be Still!' — Mark 4:39

Saturday, March 16, 2024

When Jesus woke up [in the storm-tossed boat], he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Silence! Be still!" Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.

Key Thought

"'Silence! Be still!' ... and there was a great calm." Just as in that terrifying storm for the disciples, Jesus also has the power to bring calm into the troubled hearts of his followers today. In the middle of the storms of life, we must learn to listen for our Savior's voice, seek out his words, and remember the full message of his life. Jesus brings us calm when we know he is in ultimate control and has our final destination secured!

Today's Prayer

O God, my Father in heaven, give me faith to believe that Jesus can calm my heart and help me through my storms. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
