God's Holy Fire: 'Speak Your Piece!'

Saturday, August 29, 2026

Then [the Spirit] said [to Ezekiel], "Son of man, get all these words that I'm giving you inside you. Listen to them obediently. Make them your own. And now go. Go to the exiles, your people, and speak. Tell them, 'This is the Message of GOD, the Master.' Speak your piece, whether they listen or not." Then the Spirit picked me up. Behind me I heard a great commotion — "Blessed be the Glory of GOD in his Sanctuary!"

Key Thought

God is inspiring his messenger, Ezekiel, through the work of the Holy Spirit. The message his messenger gives to his fellow exiles is not of his own mind but comes from God. However, he is to take this message in and make the words his own words. He is to obey those words. And he is to speak those words to the people no matter how they react. God has given him the words to say, and he must speak his piece of God's truth! And to make sure he does, the Spirit makes sure he gets to the place he needs to be (Ezekiel 3:14-15)!

Today's Prayer

O Father, may your Holy Spirit convict me of what I need to do and say and place me in the places I need to be today, and for each day that follows. In Jesus' name, I ask this. Amen.
