Spiritual Warfare: 'Elders' Prayers Are Powerful'

God's Power for Our Battles — Friday, June 27, 2025

Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

Today's Prayer

Lord, I need Your healing. Forgive me for overlooking this avenue of fighting against sickness: prayer plus anointing oil. Though it might seem petty and useless, Lord, help me to have the faith to obey You anyway. My human nature yells that this is just symbolic or silly, but my spirit wants to obey Your instructions and fulfill this act of faith. Put elders around me who are also men of faith. Lead me to obedience even though it doesn’t make sense from a physical standpoint. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
