For nearly three decades, Verse of the Day has been a daily resource for millions of people around the world. As a part of Heartlight's ministry since 2000, it has shown up in inboxes, on phones, and in the daily rhythms of readers in multiple languages and from 190 countries.
Verse of the Day will continue as "The Stream" of our ministry: daily nourishment from Scripture, and the place where future development, additional resources, and new offerings will take shape. That daily ministry isn't going anywhere.
Since its founding, Verse of the Day has adapted through every major shift in how people access content online — from email to social media to mobile apps. Like new wineskins for new wine, as technology continues to evolve, so will the ways we deliver God's Word to you. You can expect the daily ministry you already love to continue, alongside new ways to engage with Scripture in the months and years ahead.
VerseofTheDay.com was started by Ben Steed in the late 90s. After selling the domain to Heartlight in 2000, Ben has remained a part of Heartlight's work for over 20 years, currently serving as the Director of Operations and partner in the ministry.
Next year, Verse of the Day will continue through Ben's company, Infinite Publishing, LLC, which currently manages Heartlight's online publications and presence. The transition in organizational structure won't disrupt what you receive from Verse of the Day but simply provide an organizational framework best suited for carrying it forward into the years ahead.
As Heartlight, Inc. entrusts Verse of the Day and Heartlight.org to Infinite Publishing at the end of this year, the nonprofit itself is stepping into a new chapter — continuing under a new name and a new focus but built on work that grew directly out of the translation work of this ministry. We'll share that story tomorrow.
Through all of this, our purpose remains what it has been for nearly thirty years:
Providing resources to help people live for Jesus each day.
By God's Grace and for His Glory,
The Verse of the Day and Heartlight Teams
