Mark 6:4

"Then Jesus told [the townspeople], "A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family." And..."

In his own house a prophet is without honor. "Only in his home town, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." Mark 6:4

Why did Mark include it in his gospel? After all, his gospel is the shortest and most compact story of Jesus among the four gospels! Phil Ware looks at Mark 6:1-6 and reminds us that this story is for us because we are Jesus' family, relatives, and hometown!
