You probably remember the prayer Samuel’s mother prayed in when she thanked God. She said, "I asked the LORD to give me this child, and he has given me my request. Now I am giving him to the LORD, and he will belong to the LORD his whole life." (1 Samuel 1:27-28 NLT ed. 1)

One little boy said about the same thing in American shorthand when he said, "Parents are babysitters for God." Isn’t that neat? Babysitters for God! What a high and holy profession

These precious children are indeed gifts entrusted to parents for a short while. They're not ours, they're God's. Even when they spill the milk, rip their pants, and get into fights with their sister.

"Parents are babysitters for God."
And parents are there as God's babysitters to see that they have good models and a chance to make this world a better place.
