Key Thought

Some principles are the center around which other principles turn. They capture the truth in a succinct, and yet profound, way. The "Golden Rule" is one of those principles. It is a commandment from Jesus that sets the gold standard of relationship principles. This short commandment from Jesus defines what it means to love our neighbors as ourselves [1] and opens our motives and behaviors up to self-scrutiny. Today's Prayer

Father, may I truly and fully understand this profound commandment and obey it in every aspect of my daily life. Move through your Holy Spirit in me to conform me more completely into the embodiment of this commandment your Son both taught and lived. In his name, I pray, Amen.
