Spiritual Warfare: 'God Loves Prayer, Confession, and Fasting'
God's Power for Our Battles — Wednesday, November 18, 2026
Then I turned to the Lord God and prayed and asked him for help. To show my sadness, I fasted, put on rough cloth, and sat in ashes. I prayed to the Lord my God and told him about all of our sins. I said, "Lord, you are a great God who causes fear and wonder. You keep your agreement of love with all who love you and obey your commands."
Lord, right now I confess my sins: ... Forgive me. Help me to turn from evil and live for You. I am willing to fast and pray to show You how committed I am to Your ways. Grant me a fresh desire to know Your word and follow Your instructions. As I think about how I have lived, Lord, I am truly sad and have many regrets about all the choices I have made. Forgive me. Cleanse me. And lead me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
"Dear Father, righteous judge, Who could argue against your righteous judgment? Who would claim that those who refuse to see truth should not be left...."
"What a veil is lifted up by these words, and what a disclosure is made! It will be humbling and profitable for us to pause awhile and see this sad..."
