Spiritual Warfare: 'Returning to the Same Sin Hinders Our Prayer'

God's Power for Our Battles — Thursday, November 6, 2025

[The Lord has said:] "They have returned to the sins of their ancestors. They have refused to listen to me and are worshiping other gods. Israel and Judah have both broken the covenant I made with their ancestors. Therefore, this is what the Lord says: "I am going to bring calamity upon them, and they will not escape. Though they beg for mercy, I will not listen to their cries."

Today's Prayer

Lord, just like ancient Israel, I have often returned to my same old sins-over and over. Please forgive me. Grant me the determination and will-power to resist; fill me with Your Spirit, so I am able; take away my desire to do evil. I know this treadmill of returning to sin has hindered my relationship with You and my prayers, Lord, but help me to do better and show me the way out every time I head toward my recurring desires to sin. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
