Spiritual Warfare: 'Outsiders (Us) Are Welcome in God’s Kingdom'
God's Power for Our Battles — Wednesday, October 21, 2026
[The apostle Peter explained,] "Just then three men who had been sent from Caesarea arrived at the house where we were staying. The Holy Spirit told me to go with them and not to worry that they were Gentiles. These six brothers here accompanied me, and we soon entered the home of the man who had sent for us. He told us how an angel had appeared to him in his home and had told him, 'Send messengers to Joppa, and summon a man named Simon Peter.'"
Lord, I love the stories in the Bible about how You repeatedly helped Your people, the Jews, but I am especially thankful that You have grafted in Gentiles like me into the tree of life through faith in Jesus Christ as Your only Son. This story in Acts seems to be the first time that happened, and every day I’m thankful I’m included so I can have a relationship with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
"But if God himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking more of yourself than of him. Anyone, of course, who has not welcomed this..."
"[Paul, continuing his address to the council of the city of Athens:] "God overlooked people's ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now...."
"Faith is full of inventions. The house was full, a crowd blocked up the door, but faith found a way of getting at the Lord and placing the palsied man..."
