Spiritual Warfare: 'God Wants You Clearheaded and Confident'

God's Power for Our Battles — Sunday, September 22, 2024

Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us.
— 1 Thessalonians 5:7-9 NLT

Today's Prayer

Lord, deliver me from the desire for laziness and drunkenness. Help me to live in the light—far from the ways of darkness and evil. Help me to be alert and clearheaded, remembering to have faith in Your ability to protect and deliver me from my enemies. Help me to live in Your love, demonstrating that love to all those around me. And help me to be confident in my salvation rather than doubtful and fearful. I want to live in constant hope, focusing on heaven and eternity with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
