Spiritual Warfare: 'Jesus Prayed for Our Protection & Unity'

God's Power for Our Battles — Monday, March 16, 2026

Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are.
— John 17:11 NLT

Today's Prayer

Lord, I know You are now at the right hand of Your Father. Thank You for coming to this world and showing us the Father’s love; for dying for our sins, and for demonstrating unity with the Father even while You were separated from Him. Thank You for the great example You have set and for the opportunity to be part of Your family. Protect me by Your power, Lord, and help me to be unified with my brothers and sisters in service to You even though we might not all agree 100% on every aspect of life here. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Article by Phil Ware
Jesus didn't pray for unity just so Christians could sit in a happy circle, hold hands, and sing Kum Ba Yah around the campfire at church camp. Phil Ware reflects on the words of Jesus, the actions of the apostle Paul, and the example of a couple of men in his life, all focused on the theme of reconciliation.
