The Lord is a friendto those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant. My eyes are always on the Lord, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.
Lord, Abram was Your friend, Moses was Your friend, and Jacob was Your friend. When Jesus came, the disciples were his friends. Even though I have wandered far from You and far from Your ways in the past, I want to be Your friend from now on. I want to draw nearer to You. I want to hear Your voice and know it well. I want to be deaf to the enemy, and be delivered from enemy traps. Please give me a new heart and a fresh desire to push myself away from the table of pleasure, power, and wealth, Lord, and draw near to You with the heart of a servant. Use me as You will and sustain me in my time of need. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

"But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written..."
