Spiritual Warfare: 'Don’t Be Trapped by Desire for Wealth'

God's Power for Our Battles — Tuesday, March 4, 2025

But those who [are not financially ethical and] crave to get rich [with a compulsive, greedy longing for wealth] fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction [leading to personal misery].

Today's Prayer

Lord, our modern world is filled with conveniences and trinkets and technologies that can easily become my idols. Symbols of wealth and prosperity can often seem like they are worthy of my time and attention when - in truth - they fuel the fires that lead me toward ruin and destruction, replacing worthy desires with unworthy ones. Please help me recognize what is truly important and worthy of my time and dedication. Help me make each choice in light of the end of the road and worthy deferred gratification instead of instant satisfaction. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
