Spiritual Warfare: 'Satan Works to Get Us All to Worship Him'

God's Power for Our Battles — Tuesday, January 28, 2025

"I will give it all to you," he [the devil] said [to Jesus], "if you will kneel down and worship me."
"Get out of here, Satan," Jesus told him. "For the Scriptures say, 'You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'"
— Matthew 4:9-10 NLT

Today's Prayer

Lord, Satan tempted You for 40 days and in many ways throughout your life, so I know You understand how I am also constantly being tempted. He wants me to worship and serve Him instead of the one true God. Thank You for setting the example by resisting temptation. Help me to follow Your example wholeheartedly. Help me to resist the temptation to worship the devil by bowing to the trials and temptations of my own daily life and looking for the easy way out instead of the Biblical way out. I want to overcome, Lord, just as You did. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
