The Stream Continues

Verse of the Day has been a daily resource for millions of people around the world. As a part of Heartlight's ministry for nearly three decades, it has shown up in inboxes, on phones, and in the daily rhythms of readers in multiple languages and from 190 countries.

Moving forward, Verse of the Day will serve as “The Stream” of our ministry — the primary arena where future development, additional resources, and new offerings will take place. While Heartlight.org will continue as “The Well” of this ministry (a permanent, living archive of thirty years of devotionals, articles, and artwork), Verse of the Day will carry that legacy forward as the place where this ministry continues to grow and adapt.

Since its founding, Verse of the Day has adapted through every major shift in how people access and interact with content online — from email to social media to mobile apps. Like new wineskins for new wine, as technology continues to evolve, so will the ways we deliver God's Word to you.

But don't worry! What you've come to rely on from Verse of the Day isn't going anywhere. The daily verse, thought, and prayer you love will continue as they have for years. As Verse of the Day carries its core daily ministry forward, you can also expect new ways to engage with Scripture alongside what you already receive.

VerseofTheDay.com was started by Ben Steed who has been a part of Heartlight for over 20 years. Beginning in 2027, the work of both Heartlight.org and Verse of the Day will continue through his company, Infinite Publishing, LLC. The transition in organizational structure won't disrupt what you receive from Verse of the Day but simply provide a framework best suited for carrying it forward.

As Heartlight, Inc. entrusts these digital ministries to Infinite Publishing at the end of the year, the nonprofit itself is stepping into a new chapter which grew directly from people who have helped translate Verse of the Day. We'll share more about that tomorrow.

Through all of this, our purpose remains the same as it has for nearly 30 years: to offer simple, Scripture-centered encouragement that helps you live for Jesus each day.
