Happy Mother's Day!

Welcome:

We're glad you've joined us for ToGather for May 10, 2020! (What is ToGather?) Below, you will find a guide for home worship with Scriptures, songs, a Communion reflection, and an encouraging video message from Phil Ware about honoring women of faith and courage. We encourage you to open your heart as we worship God! You will also want to have bread and wine (or grape juice) for the time of Communion.

May God bless you, those you love, and those you want to reach with the grace of Jesus!

The ToGather.church Team

Beginning with Praise:

Let's honor God in worship as the Holy Spirit transforms us to be more like Christ. Our focus this week is on valuing women of faith and courage — both those who are our heroes of faith in Scripture and also those in our own lives.

We begin with Bethel Music's song, "Raise a Hallelujah," as we focus on God's power for us in the face of challenges, difficulties, and hardship. Whether you are alone or with others, you can draw near to God and lift your hallelujahs to God, our gracious Father, the Son who is our sacrifice for sins, and the Holy Spirit who fills us as we worship!

We raise our hallelujahs because God has given us the ultimate victory in Jesus Christ. Let's declare the truth of this victory, aloud:

When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Such a great victory leads us to sing praises to Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Join in song as the Zoe Group leads us in "How Can I Keep from Singing?"

A Call to Value Women of Faith and Grace:

Phil's message today focuses on Lois and Eunice, the mother and grandmother of Timothy. Phil also reminds us of the roles of fourteen other women whose influence changed the course of history for God's people, and he challenges us to think of other women who are heroes of faith and courage:

Note: This page is the worship guide that Phil refers to in his video so no links are needed.

Faith and courage are rooted in our assurance that God goes with us wherever we go. Be blessed and strengthened by the song "Highlands" (Song of Ascent) by Hillsong United.

A Call to Serve Others as We Commune:

Randy Yarbrough is dear a brother in Christ. He serves the Lord and others by helping others in many ways:
