What Jesus Did! 'No Bad Secrets!' — Luke 12:1-3

Wednesday, August 9, 2023

Meanwhile, the crowds grew until thousands were milling about and stepping on each other. Jesus turned first to his disciples and warned them, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees — their hypocrisy. The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!"

Key Thought

We must live without any destructive and sinister secrets, because all of them are eventually going to become public - now, later, or when Jesus' comes. Who we truly are, in the core of our beings, and what we've done will be on full display when we stand before the Lord. We won't be able to use a false persona to hide a rotten reality or sinful behavior. Let's pray that what people see in us is a lot more like Jesus each new day than it was the day before.

Today's Prayer

Holy and loving Father, I praise you for being the Almighty God who knows even the untold truths buried in my past, hidden in my heart. Through the power of your Spirit, please help me to do away with the bad things in my life and live more like Jesus each day. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
