What Jesus Did! 'No Real Secrets!' — Luke 12:1-3

Sunday, August 9, 2015

Many thousands of people came together. There were so many people that they were stepping on each other. Before Jesus spoke to the people, he said to his followers, "Be careful of the yeast of the Pharisees. I mean that they are hypocrites. Everything that is hidden will be shown. Everything that is secret will be made known. The things you say in the dark (secretly) will be told in the light (openly). The things you whisper in a private room will be shouted from the top of the house."

Key Thought

We must live without any real secrets, because all of them are eventually going to become public—now, later, or when Jesus' comes. Who we truly are, in the core of our beings, will be on full display when we stand before the Lord. We won't be hiding behind a public persona while hiding a rotten reality or a sinful habit. Let's pray that what people see is a lot more like Jesus each new day than it was the day before.

Today's Prayer

Holy and loving Father, I praise you for being the Almighty God who knows even the untold truths buried in my past, hidden in my heart. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
