Then the priest will go in and examine the mildew on the walls. If he finds greenish or reddish streaks and the contamination appears to go deeper than the wall’s surface, the priest will step outside the door and put the house in quarantine for seven days.
Lord, when I researched this, I learned that when You gave the Israelites the homes of the Canaanites, there were often streaks of mold and mildew that appeared on the walls. These streaks indicated a hidden idol dedicated to the demon gods of that land, and that’s why a priest was needed to properly dispose of it instead of simply a carpenter. Help me to remove from my own life any hidden idols that dishonor You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
