Spiritual Warfare: 'God Is a Refuge, a Shield, and a Source of Hope'

God's Power for Our Battles — Sunday, September 20, 2026

I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions. [Lord] You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope. Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.

Today's Prayer

Lord, I know You only accept wholehearted commitments, not half-hearted, lukewarm allegiance. I want to serve You well and obey Your commands, separating myself from the evil lives and evil ways of this fallen world. I need You as my personal refuge, place of safety, and shield of protection. I cling to the hope that is only found in You and in Your Son Jesus Christ. I look forward to hearing those all-important words, “Well done,” Lord. May that day come soon and Your reign begin. Until then, help me to be faithful and committed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
