And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

Today's Prayer

Lord, I openly confess my weakness to You: I don’t really know how to pray. Please hold my hand in this worthy endeavor until I learn to make it part of my very nature - my first reaction to every problem rather than my last resort when all else has failed. Give me the right words at the right moment. Help those words flow from my lips until they truly become a part of me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
