Thoughts on Today's Verse...

As followers of Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, we are part of Israel (Galatians 3:7-14, 26-29, 4:1-7, 6:16 - see article; ). That means God's calls for his people's commitment, obedience, holiness, and faithful dependence upon him as the Lord (YHWH - the covenant name God gave Israel to identify him) are also for us! So, let's get real about where we put our hope! What do we have here that is unfailing and inexhaustible? Nothing except God's unfailing love. He still loves us even when we disappoint, hurt, offend, or rebel against him. While we were sinners, he sent Jesus to redeem us from sin and death (Romans 5:6-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21). Why trust anything or anyone else with our future? Let's lean on God's unfailing love! Dear brothers and sisters, let's put our "hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption."

My Prayer...

Abba Father, loving God, we place our hopes, dreams, and futures in your hands. We trust that you are at work for each of us and what is for our eternal good. We believe that you alone offer freedom from all that can enslave us. Thank you for forgiving our sins and blessing us with your promise of life with you forever. But most of all, dear Father, we thank you for your "unfailing love and full redemption." In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
