Thursday, March 22, 2007

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Our challenge is trusting that amid our lives, those emotional earthquakes and tidal waves, God does not abandon us or leave us to face our trials alone. God is not only our protector, but he is also our constant helper. He is there even when our world seems to be crashing around us. He will deliver us from death or provide life to us through death and deliver us into the presence of Jesus. He will be our fortress from evil or strengthen us to overcome evil. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." So, let's refuse to melt in fear but trust in him!

My Prayer...

Today, Holy God, I pray for those today who are in the middle of life's earthquakes and tidal waves. You know those for whom I am concerned. You know I care about their struggles which are too big for me to mitigate and too painful for me to bring comfort fully. I ask you now to bless and be with them and deliver them quickly. You are our only true hope, and Jesus is our only sure redeemer. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
