"Let's pray right now."

This phrase has become one of my favorite things to say. For years someone would ask me to pray for them and I'd say, "I sure will." Most often I would, but sometimes I'd forget.

"Let's pray right now."

I guess I heard someone say this years ago and it really stuck with me. So now, not every time, but often, I say, "Let's pray right now."

I was on vacation recently, and I met someone who began to tell my wife and me about her daughter. She was praying that her daughter would come back home. You could tell she was really grieving in her spirit about it. I held out my hand and said, "Let's pray right now."

Praying right then isn't just so that you won't forget about it. There is nothing like holding someone's hand or laying a hand on a person's shoulder and praying right then and there. When you pray right then the other person is also feeling your compassionate touch and hearing your caring voice. When someone has done this for me, this ministry of grace really meant a lot to me. When we stop and pray right then, somehow it seems to imprint that concern on our heart, and we pray about it later too.

Try it. The next time someone asks you to pray for them about something say, "Let's pray right now." If you do, you won't have to worry about forgetting, it will remind you to pray later, and the person you are praying for will really appreciate it.

"Let's pray right now."

Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:19 NKJV)
