For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity — the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

Key Thought

Some passages nail down several essential truths that are succinct, clear, and rich in profound truth. Notice the vital truths shared in two verses:

  • There is one God. [1]
  • There is one Mediator - Christ Jesus - reconciling humanity to God. [2]
  • Jesus gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone. [3]
  • God gave the world this message. [4]
  • This message came to the world at just the right time. [5]

Our life of faith is built around God, a relational God motivated by love and a willingness to sacrifice to bring us back into a saving relationship with Him. He asks us to embrace His heart for people with generosity and grace. How can we not love others as He has first loved us? [6]

Today's Prayer

Almighty God and loving Father, I see how much You have loved us, the people of this broken world, and I am inspired to love those around me, especially my brothers and sisters in Christ. I know the Holy Spirit keeps pouring Your love into my heart so that it can flow to others desperately needing to be loved. Please use me to be Your demonstration of love to those who need it. I ask for this grace in Jesus' name. Amen.
