Instead, take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place for you!’ Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Lord, I confess that most of my life has been lived with a heart FULL of pride rather than humility. Please forgive me. I have worked tirelessly at exalting MYSELF instead of exalting YOU. I have focused MUCH more on promoting MY OWN kingdom rather than YOURS. Give me a new heart and a new focus. Help me to change my priorities and make YOUR agenda mine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
