Spiritual Warfare: 'Don't Give the Devil an Opportunity!'

God's Power for Our Battles — Saturday, September 12, 2026

And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness].

Today's Prayer

Lord, forgive me. Many times in the past I have sinned through anger, grudges, harboring resentment for minor offenses, and allowing unforgiveness into my heart to take root, leading to bitterness. Remind me that these are ways Satan invades my heart and gets a foothold, Lord, and remind me that footholds become strongholds, ultimately leading me far from You. Help me to remember that bitterness is like cutting my OWN throat and expecting the OTHER person to bleed to death. Deliver me from all bitterness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
