How big a check do you want God to sign for you? We often turn prayer into a time to demand God give us things so we can cash our check from him rather than as a time to submit to his will and grace for us.

When you hate baseball, why would you ever love it? When we delight in someone, their desires become our own, and that's especially important when you have a little boy who loves baseball or a Father in heaven who loves you.

What are you being driven to do? We all have an inborn need that only God can fill, yet most of us spend our time running after inadequate substitutes.

Is happiness really just a mouse click away? Junk e-mail gives us a good glimpse into what the world sees as happiness. But true happiness comes from God, not from a website.

When you get what you've always longed for, will you be satisfied? Only God can satisfy our deepest longings. Everything else will just leave us longing for more.
