I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and human beings, Christ Jesus, himself human, who gave himself as a ransom for all people (1 Timothy 2:1-6 TNIV).

While the election of a new president and vice-president are clearly the focus on most people's minds, tomorrow's election also involves seats in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as well as state and local issues and offices. So my message today is very simple:

  • Please fast and pray tomorrow for the elections in the United States and the impact that these results have on world peace and the taking of the Gospel of Jesus to all nations.
  • Let's be a people on our knees in prayer!
  • No matter the outcome of this election, please stay involved in prayer for "all those in authority" around the world.

Let's be a people on our knees in prayer, focused on the salvation of all humankind and genuinely interceding for those in positions of authority.
