"There is an App for that," was the repeated phrase as I tried to use my smartphone to connect with different sources of information. The App is a shortcut that eliminates the user from going through all the steps to get from one electronic place to another. Click the App and you're transported to the core of the information desired.

There's no app for knowing scripture. Numerous church leaders offer pithy statements, scripture phrases, and catchy clichés to simulate a religious aura on the "core" message. Church, or Christianity, or Faith by cliché and catch phrase is not knowing scripture.

In  Acts 6 the Apostles, men who had walked with Jesus, recognized this when they went to Jerusalem to choose men to serve widows. The reason was that the apostles should "not leave the word of God" to do other things.

Paul tells his prodigy Timothy:

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 3:15-17).

Scripture is the fundamental means by which we learn and then know God and our Savior Jesus. There are no shortcuts and No App for that.

There's no app for that!
