Why are words of praise so hard for us to offer to God? We get so accustomed to asking God for things that our prayers almost sound like Christmas wish lists. Scripture, however, reminds us of the importance of praising God for what he has done, who he is, and the promises he will fulfill in the future. He is the only true and living God who is the Alpha and the Omega, the God who is and was and is to come!
Oh, what a wonderful God we have!
How great are his riches and wisdom and knowledge!
How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his methods!
For who can know what the Lord is thinking?
Who knows enough to be his counselor?
And who could ever give him so much that he would have to pay it back?
For everything comes from him; everything exists by his power and is intended for his glory.
To him be glory evermore.
To God, who alone is wise, be the glory forever through Jesus Christ. Amen.
