But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:4-10 NKJV)

I am always confused by talk about insurance. Everyone has a horror story of paying too much ... or having too little ... or having the wrong coverage ... or having a claim denied. How do you know what coverage you need?

I guess you ask an agent, but they are getting paid according to what they sell so I am never sure they can give a completely unbiased opinion — okay, to all my friends in the insurance industry, please understand this is not a dig at you, I'm trying to make an important point here.

Of course, you have insurance for "just in case." So the thought occurs to you that you may be wasting money unless you have a wreck or get really sick. So what I really want is to be insured for what I know will happen and I want to have the right coverage and I want to know exactly how much it costs.

So what am I certain about in terms of the future?

I am certain that I am going to die. I am convinced that my soul, that real part of me, is forever — it is immortal and will never die! I know that I will someday stand before God to give an answer for how I've lived my life. Bottom line, I am certain that I will exist forever either in the presence of God or separated from His presence.

I want to "insure" --or better yet, I want to be very sure — that I live forever with God. Jesus has made it possible for me to do that. He died for my sins so that they would not separate me from God. He was raised from the dead so I can know that I will conquer death. And I can know this with certainty. It is easy to understand. Eternal life is not just "possible" or even just "probable." It is a sure thing. Listen to this promise: I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life (1 John 5:13 NLT).

So what does this cost?

So what am I certain about?
I know it cost God a Son and it cost Jesus a life (John 3:16).

It is absolutely free (Romans 6:23). In fact, you can't pay for it.

Yet it costs you your life. You have to die to live (Romans 6:3-11).

Jesus paid a debt you could never pay (Colossians 1:19-22). If you believe in him ... you are going to be willing to "die with him" to live (Colossians 2:12) so you can know for sure about your future (Colossians 3:1-4).

If you want to know more about the ultimate in real life insurance and how to obtain it for sure ... get in touch with me. I'd love to share it with you. No strings attached. I get nothing out of it. I already have everything I need. So let me hear from you.
