Ah! The "Golden Rule" is so straightforward, isn't it? Sometimes we make things far too complicated and complex, especially religious things. I love the Bible because it is often practical and plain when God deals with our behavior. Do you want to know how to treat someone? Then do for them what would be a blessing if it was done to you! Don't do it to them if it doesn't bless, encourage, build up, support, comfort, or help you. If it hurts, wounds, depresses, spites, or discourages you, don't treat others that way. Deal with others using the same dignity, kindness, love, respect, and tenderness you would like used with you. Simple to understand; revolutionary to do. This is the JesuShaped way of living!
My Prayer...
Almighty God, thank you for making some things so simple to understand. Please fill my heart with your love as I try to live the "Golden Rule" in my relationships. In the name of the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
"[To his disciples, Jesus continued,] "We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can..."
"Let us not imagine that the soul sleeps in insensibility. "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise," is the whisper of Christ to every dying saint...."
"The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way......"
"Dear Father, Help us understand that in Christ we are dead to law; we have been crucified with Christ so that we might live unto you. Let Christ live..."
