Today's Verse: Numbers 27:16-17

Saturday, June 11, 1955

May the Lord, the God of the spirits of all mankind, appoint a man over this community to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord's people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Wow! For any city, county, or country electing new leadership or for a church selecting elders, pastors, or ministers, what greater prayer could there be than to ask: Lord of all humanity, please appoint leaders who will go before us, care for us, and lead us with integrity modeling your ways of peace and virtue so that we will not be like sheep without a shepherd. O, God, please give us such leaders. Amen!

My Prayer...

O Father, please forgive us for choosing leaders for the wrong reasons and for selecting those to lead us who have bad character but are successful in other places. Please raise up leaders at every level of our Christian communities and churches with integrity of character and a deep concern for people. We pray this together, in the name of the Savior, Jesus. Amen.
