Today's Verse: John 1:40-42

Sunday, June 27, 1943

Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Almost every time we see Andrew in the New Testament, he brings someone to meet Jesus (John 1:40-42, 6:5-9, 12:20-22). Aside from this truth and that Andrew was Simon Peter's brother and a fisherman, we learn little else about Andrew in our Bibles. But doesn't Andrew have the kind of reputation you would like to have? "And he brought him to Jesus." I want to have the reputation of always bringing people to Jesus. Don't you?

My Prayer...

God, our source of salvation, please bless me as I seek to share Jesus with my friends and family. Please help me follow the example of Andrew, becoming someone who is always leading others to Christ. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
