Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT)

Crazy things happen to me. I don't know why they do, they just do. For instance, about two weeks ago I was driving down the road. A squirrel ran out in front of me. I hit the brakes and my cell phone flew into my full coffee cup. Now that might not be too crazy except for the fact that it was the second time I've dumped a cell phone in a coffee cup. Luckily I had insurance. I turned the claim in and replaced it, no problem.

Then on Tuesday of this week, I clipped my new cell phone onto the back of my shorts and went walking. I'd drunk at least two cups of coffee that morning, so by the time I returned from walking I was in a big hurry to get to the bathroom. I ran into the bathroom and splash! There went the cell phone taking a dive for full immersion into the commode. The moral of this story could be stay away from coffee or else get a waterproof cell phone!

I love to laugh.
This past weekend, I was giving a speech at a local church to a group of ladies. Our theme was "Changing Seasons of Life." Right in the middle of my speech, I had a hot flash — the kind where you start getting warm on the inside and before you know it, you're sweating as if you'd just finished running a marathon. The room was air conditioned, but to my internal thermometer, that didn't matter. I had no choice but to stop speaking and come out of my jacket! I joked with the ladies that I wanted to illustrate what some of the "changing seasons of life" could do to us.

Yes, crazy things happen to me and for the most part, I enjoy them. I love to laugh and do my best to have a joyful heart. What makes all those crazy things and changing seasons joyful for me is that I face them all as God's precious child, loved by Jesus my Lord, and filled with the Holy Spirit. I hope when crazy things and changing seasons happen to you, you can laugh and have a joyful heart, too!
