Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Women have always played an essential role in the work of God. This was especially true in the first century in Macedonia and Achaia (Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, and Corinth). In each of these places, the Gospel touched many of the leading women of the community. We know they played essential roles in supporting the missionary enterprise (Lydia - Acts 16:15, 40) and sharing the Gospel with those around them (Euodia and Syntyche - Philippians 4:2-3). So please take time today to let a godly woman in your congregation know how important she is to the Lord's work and to you.

My Prayer...

Almighty God, thank you for godly women of faith. Please bless them and their ministries and make their efforts powerfully effective and a gracious blessing to others as they bring you glory. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
