Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Each generation must have its own first-hand experience of God's power and presence to have enduring faith. This kind of faith takes more than receiving a godly heritage in faith and learning stories about the PAST deeds of God. Both are important, yet a fresh experience of God's mighty presence is essential. Jesus came as God in human flesh to help us know God and see how he loves us (Matthew 1:23; John 3:16-17). Yet Jesus still longs for us to experience God today through the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-16, 18, 21, 23).

My Prayer...

Holy God, help me pass down my faith in you and my love for you to my children and other young believers. More than that, Abba Father, help them experience your mighty power and great deeds personally through the Holy Spirit as they obey your teaching and learn to serve others sacrificially. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen.
