Truthfulness

   Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, "Sin has many tools and the lie is the handle that fits them all." When we think of lies-- two names often come to mind; Ananias and Sapphira. They were confronted with truth and still lied to the Apostles.

   The Bible says that the liar is...

• A flatterer -- Psalm 12:2 "With flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak."
• Deceitful -- Psalm 55:21 "The words of his mouth were smoother than butter... his words were softer than oil, yet they are drawn swords."
• A slanderer -- Psalm 101:5, 7 "Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him will I destroy... He who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house."

   We as believers should be truthful in all our dealings with people. Let us dedicate ourselves to truthfulness.
