Misrepresentation

Greenland is the largest island in the world.  Its size is three times larger than Texas and it is longer than the distance from New York to Denver.  It was discovered in 982 A.D. by Eric the Red, who wanted to encourage his fellow Norsemen to go there, thus he called it Greenland.  Shortly thereafter, 25 ships filled with eager settlers sailed for the place.  The fact the settlers were unaware of was that in July Greenland's average daily temperature is only 50 degrees Fahrenheit.  During the island's short summer, only the coastal areas are green.  Obviously Eric the Red sought to deceive by his misrepresentation.

Isn't it good to know that God's Word never misrepresents truth?  Jesus prayed, "Sanctify them in truth, Thy Word is truth." It really is reassuring to know that if we need truth about life, death, morality, or any subject important to life, we can be assured that they are not misrepresented by God's Word.
