Families are just vital for love and support. Family breakups work against the basic needs of all of us.

    So much so that there are people separated from their real families and needing families so badly that they form what they call “intentional families.” They meet regularly for meals and holidays and milestones and there are scores of them all over. They have created a formal organization so they can be family again, even if it is kind of a “mock” family.

    Of course, Christians have already known all along that God has already made an intentional family, and it is called “the church.” When families disintegrate because of the violation of eternal principles, his stand-in family—the church—allows a person to have other mothers and fathers and aunts and uncles and even grandchildren.

    Thank God for the church, God’s family!
