Hope in Pain

Marlee Alex watched her husband as he was squirming on a living room chair on a cold December morning. He said these words to her: “Marlee, I have found my soul mate, I am leaving you for another woman.”

There were some grueling months of despair. During those months, Marlee asked God some tough questions.

“Can I believe in you when you say all things work together for good to those who love you?”

She wondered, “Do you really love me God?”

“How could you let me trust a deceitful man?”

“Why hasn't my faith helped save my marriage?”

Then one step at a time, Marlee found hope. She was working through her grief. She opened her heart to God. Then one day she found herself saying: “I’m thankful that my happiness is not bound up in someone else’s decision, but in the most important decision I’ve ever made in my life. That is to trust you.”

If today you have someone leaving you, remember this: God says, “I will never leave you or forsake you!”
