What Jesus Did! 'Three Phrases that Mean Everything' — Luke 7:48-50

Then Jesus said to the woman [who anointed him while he was having dinner at the Pharisee's house], "Your sins are forgiven."

The men at the table said among themselves, "Who is this man, that he goes around forgiving sins?"

And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."

Key Thought

Jesus, our Savior, says, "Your sins are forgiven" and "Your faith has saved you" and "Go in peace." Can you think of anything sweeter? Three sets of words that mean everything! Jesus' words to the woman are a great reminder to us of just how he feels when we show our love to him — not just when we confess our faith, not just when we are baptized, but any time we show our love for Jesus — especially when we show our love extravagantly!

Today's Prayer

Thank you, Father, for receiving my gifts of thanks and appreciation. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for affirming those gifts given in your honor by reminding me and the hosts of heaven that I'm forgiven, saved, and given the gift of peace. Even in receiving my thanks, you bless me! All praises to the Father for his sacrificial love. All thanks to the Lord Jesus for his saving gift. All thanks to the Holy Spirit for filling my heart with joy and peace. Amen.
