Most of us men speak from the head more than the heart. With women, it’s usually the other way around—they generally speak from the heart. This can pose a problem. The head level usually deals with things: concepts, ideas, philosophies, judgements or facts. You know…left brain stuff. The heart level deals with the emotions: joy and love and tears and fears and hurts—right brain stuff. In general, men don’t deal well with this  “feeling” level of communication. But hurts and fears and emotions are especially important to women who are very sensitive.

          It’s amazing the power that develops when you put the two together. Head and heart. Right brain and left brain. And that is what great marriages do; we use the strength and the power of both worlds. And that is the way two can become a complete whole.
