Dr. Paul FaulknerConfirmed Optimist, by Dr. Paul Faulkner

Listen with RealAudio!
Well, it’s hats off to Randle and Beth Cox! Right after their engagement, Randle suffered a terrible accident, and he was left a quadrapelegic from a spinal cord injury. Sad, yes, but not tragic!

Beth stayed with him through the tough times, and Randle—a self described “confirmed optimist”—went back to college and earned a doctorate in clinical psychology. He now works helping others in the Spinal Cord Injury Center.

How did he do it? Well, he said, “Beth, my family, my friends and my faith. You don’t become a pessimist just because you have an accident.” Believe it or not, they even saw some advantages in what happened. What a great outlook!

Remember Randle and Beth when you get down, OK? God bless!
