Dr. Paul FaulknerFacing the Uncertainties, by Dr. Paul Faulkner   Real Audio

Saw a cute bumper sticker the other day: “Exercise, Eat Right, Die Anyway.” It’s true, isn’t it? Regardless of hard work and brushing our teeth and going to the doctor, everything we do to try to keep out of trouble and in good health won’t work long. Sooner or later we’re going to get some disease and eventually die, and we’re not facing reality if we don’t face the uncertainties in our lives. We can never hedge all our bets.

And when we realize this, we’re ready for some really great words that you find frequently in the Bible: one is “faith,” another is “hope,” and of course another is “love.” God has given us these words to hedge our bets. Through this world, and beyond.
